The 1st Convocation of Northern University, Nowshera was held on 6th April, 2019 at Main Campus of the University. General (R) Ehsan ul Haq as Chief Guest and General (R) Sawar Khan, President Northern University graced the convocation ceremony. In total 270 degrees and 37 medals (Gold, Bronze and Silver) were awarded to the students of PhD, MPhil, Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs. Addressing on the occasion, the Chief Guest congratulated the graduating students on their splendid success and lauded Northern University for providing exceptional knowledge and skills to the graduated students in their respective disciplines that will enable them to lead a professionally rewarding life. The President of Northern University also spoke on this occasion. He also congratulated all graduates and urged them to play their active role in the progress and prosperity of the country.While addressing the convocation he said, “Our plan for Northern University envisaged launching this project with our modest resources and let it grow gradually following the example of great universities like Aligarh Muslim University and other eminent seats of learning all over the World. And we have stuck to this plan religiously, resisting the profit-oriented models”. Earlier in his welcome address Rector Northern University Prof. Dr. Abdul Majeed welcomed all the participants and expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests for their presence in the convocation. He mentioned efforts of the Northern University for providing the most conducive academic environment, equal opportunities and highly qualified faculty for its students. He stressed on the point that our graduates have seen and experienced the core essence of social responsibility, and he prayed and hoped that the graduates would take this sense of social responsibility with them, wherever they may go. The convocation started at 11:00 AM and ended at 12:45 PM. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Teachers, Officers, Industrialists, Businessmen, and Parents of the graduating students. Established in 2002, Northern University is a philanthropic, non-profit institution with a clear social purpose, of contributing towards a just, humane, equitable and sustainable society. For this the University is focused on offering programs and conducting research in various subjects and fields.
